Bottle Bin Slays Dragons!

Bottle Bin on Dragons Den

Last night the Bottle Bin Team faced the Dragons on CBC’s hit reality show, Dragons’ Den! Over 2.2 million Canadians tuned in to see Bottle Bin impress the panel, and land a deal with Dragon Jim Treliving. It was a feeding frenzy in the Den, as all 5 dragons competed with offers on this simple idea that helps Canadians return their empty alcohol/beverage containers for refund. Bottle Bin is beyond excited to have Jim on board, and wants to thank all of our customers for their incredible dedication to glass recycling and the environment! Without giving away too much, please watch the pitch below!

O-I's Glass is Life

GlassIsLife

Ever wonder where our recycled glass goes to? Most of it heads to O-I (Owens-Illinois Inc.) which is the world’s largest manufacturer of glass containers. Approximately one of every two glass containers made worldwide is made by O-I, its affiliates, or its licensees. They have recently launched a new campaign to encourage the use of glass. Known as Glass is Life, the campaign is being rolled out across 12 countries in Europe, Latin America, North America, and the Asia-Pacific region simultaneously. The campaign will feature print and digital (banner) ads and will appear on social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Check it out, they’ve got some really cool stuff… cause after all, glass is pretty cool.

Hank, The Singing Bottle

Hank Singing Bottle

As the Bottle Bin™ Team is getting out in the industry making friends, we bumped into Hank, The Singing Bottle. Our first impression of ol' Hank was great, and we immediately wanted to bring him aboard Bring Your Bottles Back. However Hank is very loyal to his current employer and our friends, at Friends Of Glass. We were seduced by that personality, charm, and his angel of a voice. Hope you are too.

Without further ado, meet Hank.

Donate Your Empties This Weekend (May 28/29) for the Fight Against Blood Cancers

Bottle Bin Is In

Bringing your empties back to The Beer Store this weekend for their annual “Returns for Leukemia” bottle drive, just got a lot easier. When purchasing The Beer Store’s new Bottle Bin, not only will you now have a place to store, organize and transport your bottles, but also proceeds from all bin sales will go towards The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.

Returns For Leukemia is a fundraiser held each May by United Food & Commercial Workers Local 12R24 in partnership with The Beer Store to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. On the weekend of May 28/29, customers are invited to donate all or a portion of their empty bottles (or cash), with 100% of the proceeds going directly to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. Last year in 2010, $1,065, 412.24 was raised for the cause! So this weekend bring your bottles back to The Beer Store in their new Bottle Bin and not only do your part for the environment, but join the fight against Leukemia and Lymphoma.

VW's Bottle Bank Arcade

Volkswagen

Our eco-friendly friends at Volkswagen have joined the battle in trying to get you to bring your bottles back. After hearing about low glass bottle redemption rates, VW's Fun Theory invented The Bottle Bank Arcade in an effort to change people’s attitudes and make glass recycling more fun to do. So not only are you rewarded with a good conscience and money back in your pocket, but now you can have a blast while doing it. Not to say bringing your bottles back in a Bottle Bin isn’t fun, especially with our NEW coloured handles. Yes that’s right, we said coloured handles.
Stay Tuned.

Bottle Bin™ is In

Bottle Bin Is In

Finally! A place to store, organize, and return your empty glass beverage containers. Sustain It Incorporated is pleased to announce the launch of it's first product, the Bottle Bin™.

Earlier this year Sustain It, a Canadian company, identified a need to improve the flow of bottles all along the life chain. The company initiated the development, design and manufacture of the world's first dedicated container for bottles, the 'Bottle Bin™'. Bottle Bin™ is a strong returnable reusable container to help store, organize and transport your glass bottles with ease.

Bring them back in black! The Bottle Bin is made of 100% recycled materials. To quote Henry Ford, you can have your Bin in any colour you want, "so long as it's black." In order to ensure the product is made from a steady stream of entirely recycled materials, it has to be black. Manufactured in Milton, Ontario, we are also proud that this is a product made in Canada, for Canadians.

In conjunction with Bottle Bin™, Sustain It is also launching the website and initiative Bring Your Bottles Back. BYBB is a new, branded re-usable bin program that unites the retailer, the consumer and the community- promoting a sustainable solution to save energy, conserve resources and reduce waste to landfills. Please browse the website to learn more on the environmental and personal benefits of bringing your bottles back.

Welcome to the movement.
